Toe Taps

 

An excellent exercise for developing leg speed, tap the ball of your foot on the top of a step box or first step of the stairs, then change on to the other foot, as you bring the first foot back down before repeating.
 
Your aim is to work as fast as possible, pumping with your arms to achieve maximum speed. Remember to work within your own limits.
 
Avoid having the step too high, no more than 12 - 14 inches for fit persons - 6 - 8 inches for intermediate / beginner level.
 
Stretch and Warm Up before you commence any exercise and aim to finish with some good stretching to let your body and mind recover.
