Chest muscle exercise

Pectoralis major, is a powerful chest muscle, with its primary function being adduction (Bringing the arm / in towards the chest) and medial rotation of the arm. It's a key part of the chest exercises that most people work on in the gym.

The Pectoralis major attaches from your chest bone (Sternum) to your upper arm, and makes up your primary chest muscle. Typical exercises include barbell bench press, flyes and smith bench press.

Prior to performing these chest exercises, read the notes on strength training in the fitness section of the site, for guidelines, as well as weight lifting techniques. Always remember to warm-up and stretch prior to any exercise.
