Hypothermia
Hypothermia is the term used when the bodies temperature accidentally falls below the normal level of about 37 C.
It is difficult in new born babies and the elderly to control their own body temperature, so ideally the room temperature should not fall below 18C.
Hypothermia may be induced deliberately e.g. in certain surgical procedures where it is important to reduce the bodies' demand for oxygen.
